Poha (flattened rice) is an easy to make and tasty breakfast dish. However, since it is easily digested you feel hungry soon (within 3-4 hours)

Appliances: Vessel, gas stove, knife, scraper

Ingredients:

100 g flattened rice (jada poha)

Turmeric (haldi)

Oil - 1 teaspoon

Mustard - 1/2 teaspoon

1 medium size onion

2-3 small green chilies (depends on how spicy you want it to be)

Coriander and coconut grating

Salt to taste

 

Soak the poha (flattened) rice in water for at least 5 minutes, till it is completely wet.

Drain the water from the poha and apply turmeric and salt. Do not apply too much turmeric, the food will taste bitter.

Dice the potato and slice the onion

Heat the oil and fry the mustard in it on the gas , till you hear a spattering noise.

Add the onions, chilies and potatoes and fry till brown.

Add the soaked poha  to the vessel and cook for 3 minutes.

After cooking, sprinkle grated coconut and coriander leaves on the poha.
